Overview
This privacy policy describes how Brett VanderVeen ("we", "us") handles data in connection with personal automation services hosted at vanderveen.house. These services are private tools built for personal and family use only.
Google API Services
Our application uses the Gmail API to organize and summarize email for authorized accounts. Specifically:
- We access Gmail message metadata (sender, subject, date, labels, snippets) to classify and organize inbox messages.
- We apply labels, stars, and archive actions to messages based on automated classification.
- We generate daily email digests summarizing inbox activity.
Our use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Data storage
Email metadata processed by our services is used transiently for classification and summarization. We do not store, log, or retain email content beyond the immediate processing window. OAuth tokens are stored securely on private infrastructure and are never shared.
Third parties
Email metadata is sent to a third-party language model API (Ollama) for classification and summarization. No full email bodies are transmitted — only sender, subject, date, and snippet metadata. No data is sold or shared for advertising purposes.
Access
These services are restricted to accounts explicitly authorized by the project owner. There is no public sign-up or user registration.
